BUSINESS FORUM DARWIN, AUSTRALIA “EXPLORE TIMOR-LESTE’S INVESTMENT AND EXPORT POTENTIAL”

As per TradeInvest’s principal role to promote investment and export potential include its facilitation services to national and international investors who are interest to expand their commercial activity in Timor-Leste, TradeInvest through its Annual Action Plan for 2017 had organized Business Forum event with the topic “Explore Timor-Leste’s Investment and Export Potential” which was held in Darwin on the 16th of June 2017.

The Business forum focused to disseminate investment and export opportunities which aligned with the Government of Timor-Leste and Australia’s priorities and also to reflect the five priority sectors as per the Timor-Leste’s Guide for Economic Reform Growth 2015-2017 especially in Strategic Infrastructure sector (PPP), Agriculture sector (Livestock) and Tourism. The Business Forum also served as a channel for TradeInvest to promote, support and encourage the economic development of Timor-Leste and assured the awareness of investment and export potential in Timor-Leste to potential investors in Australia.

TradeInvest in partnership with the Consulate General of Timor-Leste in Darwin to organize the Business Forum and it had attracted 128 participants to participate on the Forum. The event went successful with the participation of the high level Government officials from Timor-Leste and Australia who had been represented by The Minister of State Coordinator of Economic Affairs and Minister of Agriculture and Fisheris, H.E. Eng. Estanislau da Silva, The Interim Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Secretary of State for Arts and Culture, H.E. Isabel Ximenes and The Chief Minister of Australia Northern Territory Government, Honorable Michael Gunner together with a number of representative of public and private sector from both countries.
