(wholly owned subsidiary of Heineken N.V., Netherlands) signed a Special Investment Agreement with the State of Timor Leste on 8 January 2015 and subsequently a land lease on 29 June 2015 for the factory site at Hera. The project work commenced in September 2015 and the multi beverage plant will start local production in December 2016. The plant is capable of producing HEINEKEN range of international beers, international soft drinks and packaged water. Acelda Unipessoal, Lda – is a local company that has exported candle nut oil to Hawaii since 2005. The company produces about 200 tons of organic candlenut oil per year. The company is now in the process of exporting to Macau. This company also produces organic red and black rice; these commodities have potential for export.

NPM Industry Unipessoal, Lda – is a local company that produces salts in large quantity (around 7000 tons per year). The company buys the salt from local people. The salt has been sold in some supermarkets around Dili and some municipalities in Timor-Leste. The company is now exploring the possibility to export salt to Singapore. The company also exports other commodities such as cloves and bittlenut to India.
